2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”
3 Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”
4 And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

Throughout the Bible, God is seen repeating Himself several times. Why does he do that? First, for emphasis. Bible says at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter shall be established. Secondly, it’s as a reminder. Humans easily forget and therefore need constant reminders.
Here, we see God saying the same old stuff of giving Abraham a child. What was Abraham’s reaction? Did he say “Oh, here we go again? It’s the same old stuff, there’s nothing new? Not at all. Rather, he believed God.
There are times we receive a prophesy and think it’s going to happen very soon. Then days turn into weeks, weeks into months and months into years; and still no show. We then become weary and when another prophecy comes, we just brush it aside. When we do that, then we’ve despised prophesies; and that’s against Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:20).
Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. The Lord help us to also believe without becoming weary because the word will surely come to pass. Amen
