But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
[Hebrews 13:16]
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
[Galatians 6:10]
God expects us to do good to all manner of persons, most especially to people of like faith. We’re told not to forget to do good and to share.
The scripture says doing good is a sacrifice. This means we don’t necessarily have to give when we have in abundance. Sometimes, we may give out the very last of what we have and deprive ourselves so as to meet the needs of others. Bible says God is well pleased when we give sacrificially.
Some have stopped doing good because their good deeds and intentions were misunderstood. Instead of being commended and thanked for doing good, some have been insulted and mocked. Some gave sacrificially and it wasthought they gave out their leftovers; as a result they’ve not been appreciated. These people have become so hurt that they’ve resolved not to do good, but rather stay in their own little corner and mind their own business.
Friends, let’s not stop doing good because that pleases God. Your reward isn’t from men but from God. The day, you are in need, God will send you deliverance because your name is in the Book of Remembrance as having done good to others.
May we receive more grace to do good all the time. We shall not faint in the Name of Jesus. Amen
